THANKSGIVING

LET´S CELEBRATE THANKSGIVING

Thanksgiving is a special festivity celebrated in the United States of America. On this day, families and friends get together to give thanks for everything they have.

This week we are going to learn about this special celebration, and we will also give thanks for what we have. It is a good opportunity for parents to talk to their children about what you are thankful for.

Acción de Gracias es una festividad muy especial celebrada en los estados Unidos de América. En este día, familias y amigos se juntan para dar gracias por todo lo que tienen.

Esta semana vamos a aprender sobre esta celebración y también daremos gracias por todo lo que tenemos. Es una buena oportunidad para que los padres habléis con vuestros hijos sobre aquellas cosas por las que estáis agradecidos.

In this unit we are studying how to look after our body. We are learning about healthy food and different ways to be healthy and strong.

There are 6 food groups: FATS, DAIRY PRODUCTS, PROTEINS, VEGETABLES, FRUITS AND CARBOHIDRATES (CEREALS).

FATS AND CARBOHIDRATES give us ENERGY.

WE CAN EAT BUT JUST A LITTLE...

DAIRY PRODUCTS give us CALCIUM= GOOD FOR BONES AND TEETH.

PROTEINS help us GROW and have big muscles.

VEGETABLES AND FRUIT help us be healthy. They have goot a lot of vitamins and fibre.

NOTA A LAS FAMILIAS

 

Como ya sabéis, durante el presente curso escolar estamos realizando grupos de lectura con vuestros hijos/as para iniciar el gusto y la motivación hacia la lectura en inglés con la intención de mejorar además la comprensión, pronunciación, fluidez y afianzamiento de un hábito lector. Con la intención de que este trabajo se pueda continuar desde casa, necesitamos que durante estos días de Pascua ayudéis a vuestros hijos con un pequeño trabajo que ya les hemos comentado en clase.

 

Se trataría de buscar una caja de zapatos  y decorarla a gusto de cada niño/a. Esta caja de zapatos sera nuestra "Reading shoe-box". En ella deben de guardar todos los librillos fotocopiados de inglés que ya han ido llevando a casa durante este curso.

 

Con esta caja queremos iniciar hábitos de organización en los niños, además, les pediremos que traigan su caja al colegio algunos días para realizar actividades de lectura con el resto de sus compañeros de 1º.

 

Agradeceríamos que ayudéis a vuestros niños/as con este proyecto y que traigan su "Reading shoe-box" a clase el próximo miércoles 19 de abril.

Hoy hemso ido de excursión al colegio Las Viñas para ver un teatro. Hemos visto dos cuentos súper divertidos. ¡No olvidéis contar en casa todo sobre las historias que habéis visto representadas en el escenario!

We are going to learn about Easter during the next two weeks at school. We are going to do different activities related to this festivity: singing songs, making crafts, watching videos or reading books will help us learn about this celebration./ Vamos a aprender sobre Easter durante las próximas dos semanas en el colegio. Vamos a hacerlo a través de diferentes actividades relacionadas con esta festividad: cantando canciones, haciendo manualidades, viendo vídeos o leyendo libros aprenderemos un montón de cosas a cerca de esta divertida celebración.

Some boys and girls from Woodstock , Illinois, visited our school today. We asked Will some questions and we learned many interesting information about him and his life in The United States of America. He also read  to us the story  "The Groundhog Day".

It was really cool to meet an American boy today!

This week we are going to celebrate an Irish festivity in our school. Let´s sing a song and learn a little bit about this celebration. And don´t forget to wear green clothes this Thursday 16th when you come to school!! / esta senmana vamos a celebrar una festividad irlandesa en el colegio. Vamos a cantar una canción y a aprender un poco sobre esta celebración. ¡No olvides llevar algo de ropa verde el próximo jueves 16 cuando vengas al cole!
